Excerpts from Recommendation Letters:

Cominco : Trail, BC

"I would like to take the opportunity to comment on the quality workmanship of the hydraulic power unit supplied by your firm for our Kivcet Lead Furnace Electrode Handling equipment. It arrived on schedule and will be installed on schedule. When you are here the week of October 2, you will be able to see the equipment installed and have a tour of our new plant.

The hydraulic seminar that you arranged with Al Rylandsholm in the spring, was again very popular. It began as a request from us for a hands on trouble shooting course, and was developed and presented by Al. It was very well received by all who attended. I understand there is a request for a repeat session in the fall."

Harmac Pacific : Nanaimo, BC

"I am extremely pleased with the work done by HyPower in achieving a high quality, state of the art hydraulic system for Harmac's chip truck dump.

In the initial phase of the design, HyPower's Dave Edwards listened to Harmac's concern about the wear and tear effects that the conventional positive displacement pumps and on/off valve systems have on the equipment. Dave Edwards and HyPower followed through and designed a system using variable displacement pumps and proportional valves controlled by a linear transducer to achieve a smooth operating system. The operation had to be completely automatic and very reliable as it has no operator and is completely computer controlled based on the driver's input. The components and piping are well laid out and provide good maintenance access.

Dave Edwards and Rick Veerman, of HyPower, conducted thorough training programs for maintaining and operating the system. Chris Morgan, of HyPower, provided field support for the system's startup and enhancement. Chris's positive attitude and many years of experience were greatly appreciated. Rick provided startup and ongoing support to optimize the system. He is always ready and willing to provide support where required. Rick and Dave have continued to work with HPI to finalize the drawings, system-operating description, the spare parts information and the maintenance and operating manual details.

Overall it has been a pleasure working with such a dedicated professional group. The excellent operation and high quality of the truck dump hydraulic system speaks for itself.

Weldwood of Canada Ltd. : Quesnel, BC

"This is a letter to acknowledge the excellent service your company has given the Weldwood Lumber Project here in Quesnel and thank you for the same.

Your division that built the hydraulic power units, Q1 Design and Mfg., performed well and responded to our delivery schedule well with occasional short notice.

Your flushing cart service proved invaluable, as in seven months of service since start up we have had only two servo valve failures. Your technician Dave Brodie worked long and hard to flush our 17 HPU's and have them ready for out start up.

Vickers components on site have worked very well. To date we have had no pump failures , no directional valve failures, and with the exception of three accumulator drain valves, no component failures."
